The official minutes from the June meeting were reviewed and approved by all Stewards present.

  • An Arbitration request has been sent regarding the SWAP Lunch Hour. The Law Enforcement Training grievance will be sent as well.
  • Roll Calls for all facilities are tentatively scheduled for September. We sent the request to address Roll Calls to the Executive Director of Courts.
  • The Union continues to question the Sheriff’s Office regarding vests.
  • The Chief Union Steward sent a formal request for all deputies assigned to street units to be staffed with two deputies per vehicle.
  • The Assistant Executive Director Shawn Roselieb advised the Stewards that the Union can arrange for deputies to purchase bullet-proof vests at a discounted price.
  • The Department of Corrections transfer class did not go through as scheduled. The Union has an active grievance regarding manpower and will advance to arbitration.
  • The Sherriff’s Office indicated that they would not allow bids to street units until a new class goes through.
  • A Representative from Keller University (DeVry) addressed the Stewards to discuss the different programs DeVry offers to law enforcement officers. He will address the upcoming Roll Calls.
